blood oxygen meter refers to an instrument that measures blood oxygen, with the main measurement indicators being pulse rate, blood oxygen saturation, and perfusion index (pi). blood oxygen saturation is one of the important basic data in clinical medicine. the normal value of blood oxygen saturation in the human body is 95%~100%,<90% shows respiratory failure, and<80% shows severe hypoxia. blood oxygen saturation below normal may be: hypoxia, pneumonia, emphysema, altitude hypoxia, blood hypoxia, circulatory hypoxia, tissue hypoxia, etc. therefore, the detection of blood oxygen saturation can indirectly determine the oxygen supply of the human body, which plays an important role in monitoring the prevention of covid-19.


principles of blood oximeter detection


1. when the heart contracts, the arterial blood content increases, but when the heart relaxes, the arterial blood content decreases; the blood content in capillaries, veins, skin, fat, and bones remains almost unchanged during cardiac contraction and relaxation.
